Put Your Anger To Work

I don’t know how many of you are CNN fans, but I just came across an article that I urge you to read. It’s entitled:

Here’s what we’ve learned from Trump’s impeachment trial

While many of us are angry, upset, disgusted and dejected over what just took place in the Senate (and the article may reinforce some of these feelings), we need to be prepared for the unpleasant events and actions that are bound to follow.

But more than that — we simply must begin channeling our energies into the November elections. We cannot allow ourselves to wallow in defeat. This travesty taking place in our government must not be allowed to continue.

While the presidential election is obviously foremost in our minds, there are seats in Congress that are also going to be up for grabs. As we’ve seen from recent events, the party with the most influence (control) is the one that’s going to determine much of our future. We need to keep that in mind and throw our support behind the candidates who respect the Constitution.

I have NEVER contributed to political causes (I won’t go into all the reasons why), but I’m seriously considering providing (at least some) monetary support to individuals and/or causes that I feel will get this country back on track. It’s that important.

This Is Scary!

Scottie at ScottiesToyBox just posted the following excepts from this article at Salon.com. Rather than a regular repost, I wanted to give the article as much exposure as possible because the information is so downright scary!

One way or another, this guy MUST be removed from office!

The article is entitled:

Trump must remain in power to stay out of prison:
watch what he does after Senate acquits him

Excerpts:

He’s going to put the full weight of his Department of Justice behind efforts to suppress the votes of poor people, young people, blacks, Latinos, women, the LGBTQ community — in fact anyone likely to vote Democratic. He’ll call for “investigations” of every Democratic presidential candidate who’s going up in the polls and announce he’s got “dirt” on every one of them. He’s going to unleash an army of surrogate liars to spread falsehoods about his opponent. He’s going to go from one rally a week to two to three; maybe he’ll hold a rally every other night. He’s going to turn Air Force One into an airborne criminal command post.

He’s going to wave unindicted co-conspirator Rudy Giuliani like a red flag and tweet out every red-meat lie he blabs on Fox. Then he’s going to pardon his indicted co-conspirators like Michael Flynn and George Papadopoulos and Roger Stone and line them up at rallies alongside the murdering war criminals he’s already set free.

Donald Trump is the O.J. of American politics. He murdered American democracy, and his search for the “real killer” produced a villain: Joe Biden.

(…)

Republicans have taken an openly sick delight in electing Trump. They are proud of him. He’s the perfect avatar of their party. All he cares about — and all his entire party cares about — is power. Impeaching Trump won’t remove him from office, and we’d better get serious about removing him at the ballot box. Republicans — Mitch McConnell, especially — have already shown us what they’ll do with the power they will seize with four more years of Trump. They’ll cram that nightmare down our throats.

They’ve already cut taxes for the wealthy and driven the budget into a hole. They’ve packed the federal courts with the simpering incompetent children of the Republican conservative “revolution” and jammed two yes-men punks onto the Supreme Court in a pure exercise of rank political power. If Trump is re-elected, they’ll strip-mine Social Security, murder Medicare and shred the social safety net, and they won’t stop there. Even as the dead bodies from one mass killing after another pile up in the schools, churches, streets and shopping malls, they’ll remove the few controls states have been able to put on gun ownership. They will turn voting into more of an exercise in futility than it already is. They’ll commit every crime they can to nullify the demographic changes that are on the horizon before new voters will have a chance to save us.

Remember … these are simply excerpts. Please read the entire article to get the FULL picture of the crisis that’s facing those of us who truly care about this country … and its people.

Donald Trump and Russia

O.K., blog readers and followers … what do you think?

WHY is tRumpsky so intent upon discounting anything and everything that might indicate  clandestine involvement with his most favorite country on the planet … RUSSIA? Is there more than meets the eye? (Of course there is!)

In your opinion, what are the core reasons behind his concerted efforts to discount the various people and documents dealing with the situation? Is it just an ego thing … it tarnishes his super big-ly image? Or are his misgivings related to a fear that it might bring to light some less-than-seemly backroom dealings? Or perhaps he’s fearful of some kind of legal retribution? (This last one seems doubtful since he’s managed to worm his way out of several other legal predicaments.)

Or does he actually fear … impeachment! (What a horrendous blow that would be to his tender ego!)

Whatever the reason, it’s glaringly obvious that it’s very important to him that all this controversy be swept under the rug.

My personal opinion? It has to do with his financial dealings with Russia. Since I don’t have millions and millions of dollars, I’m not familiar with all the ins and outs of what these guys do to keep — and more importantly, increase — their wealth, but I have a hunch it’s not always on the up and up. (Duh!) I mean, why else would he be so adamant in his refusal to release his tax forms?

Anyway, tell us what you think. And when the light finally floods the room … may the best answer win! 😀

P.S. Maybe it’s just all negative press covfefe.
