Sarah Palin-Behind the Scenes

For those who think Sarah Palin is the cat’s meow, I urge you to read Chapter 22 of “Game Change” by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin (available at most libraries).

The book is an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at what went on in the Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain camps during the 2008 presidential campaign.

The authors tell how Sarah was picked as McCain’s VP running mate and what happened as she prepared to fill her role in the campaign. If you can read the chapter with an open mind, I think you will find it very revealing.

As I’ve said all along, Sarah is a beauty queen who loves being in the spotlight. She has learned the art of saying just what people want to hear — and has raked in millions of dollars doing it. But as a presidential candidate? God forbid! Winks, lipstick, and cute aphorisms may win the hearts of her fans, but it takes a great deal more than that to run a country. And she’s greatly lacking in that department.

Don’t believe me? Put aside some time to visit your local library and read the chapter.

P.S. If she ever were to become president, what guarantee would we have she wouldn’t quit after a few months on the job?

Go President Obama!

Well, the 2008 presidential elections are finally over and, in my opinion, the Best Man won.

There is one thing that bothers me, though. Everyone is making a big deal of the fact that we have elected an African-American to the presidency.

Let’s back up for a minute.

What we have done is chosen an AMERICAN to be our president — a man who just happens to be of African descent and who just happens to have a darker skin tone than some other Americans.

We simply cannot allow ourselves to get all hung up on Barack Obama’s ethnic background. Instead, we need to see him for what he is — a man who promises to take us to new places, who promises to provide us with new opportunities, who promises … well, let him speak for himself:

“This is our time: to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism and doubt and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.”

GO PRESIDENT OBAMA!

Sarah Palin as President??

If you think Sarah Palin is a good choice for the Vice-Presidential position because:

  1. She’s a woman
  2. She’s a “soccer/hockey mom”
  3. She is someone you can “relate to”
  4. She has an engaging personality
  5. She has poise in front of an audience
  6. She’s pretty
  7. She has “confidence and readiness” (her words)

Please remember your reasons if John McCain is elected as President and, for whatever reason, Sarah Palin must suddenly take over the job of running this country (which includes the economic crises, as well as the war).
