Love Affair

From CNN Politics

“Look at Putin — what he’s doing with Russia — I mean, you know, what’s going on over there. I mean this guy has done — whether you like him or don’t like him — he’s doing a great job in rebuilding the image of Russia and also rebuilding Russia period.”

“It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond.

“I have no relationship with him other than he called me a genius.”

– AND –

From The Daily Beast: Olga Skabeeva, the host of 60 Minutes, the most popular news talk show in Russia, predicted:

“A Republican majority in the Senate won’t allow the president whom we elected, wonderful Donald Trump, to be sent off. It’s impossible. He has 90 percent support in the Republican Party.”

From AlterNetKaren Shakhnazarov, another prominent Russian media figure, said:

“They say Trump is making Russia great. That’s basically accurate. The chaos brought by Trump into the American system of government is weakening the United States. America is getting weaker, and now, Russia is taking its place in the Middle East…. So when they say that Trump is weakening the United States — yes, he is. And that’s why we love him…. The more problems they have, the better it is for us.”

And from the same source — Dmitry Kiselyov, Russian television host, recently voiced his support for Trump, describing Biden as the U.S. president’s …

“most dangerous rival” and urging him to “keep digging in Ukraine for the sweetest kompromat of all: proving that Ukraine — not Russia — interfered in the U.S. elections.”

Ain’t love grand?

  1. Either Tin-of-Pu is exceptionally good at manipulating Trump via flattery, or he’s got some kind of kompromat on him by which he can control him. It could be both. One would expect a former KGB agent to be skilled at both types of influence.

And of course Trump dreams of being a “strongman” figure like Tin-of-Pu, empowered to crush and silence his enemies, unencumbered by constitutional restraints. His adulation of Russia and its dictator reminds me of the weird way some people look upon serial killers as quasi-celebrities.

  2. If Putin calls Trump a genius, it is only for certain reasons such as:
    a) He wants something from him, so he appeals to his ego
    b) He is being sarcastic to his face, knowing well that Trump will never see the sarcasm
    c) Showing the world what a true self-declared genius is by rubbing Trump’s face in the pile of shit he is providing him in order to make Trump look like the fool he is. Trump comesj up licking the shit off his face because Putin publicly told him it was chocolate cake.

    Neither man has any shame!

    • The thing about Putin is, that he does not address the world. He does not much consider the rest of the world because the rest of the world does not grant him his power. His concern is the Russian public. What ever he says to Trump in public, or any other representative of the world outside of Russia, he is actually only addressing his own constituants and the rest of Russians. His goal is to “make Russia great again” and as he has succeeded in making Russia being feared once again he has – in a way – achieved much of his goal. The easiest way to make others fear a great power like Russia, or the US is to become unpredictable. However, one must not become too unpredictable, so that people, especially all the already existing and would be allies, still rely on agreements. That is where Putin and Trump differ. That is how Trump has become the bitch of Putin.

Trump is so eager to have recognition, that he will do anything – absolutely anything – to achieve it. Is it not obvious, from how he speaks about everything he does as it was the “greatest”, “huge”, or whatnot completely overt expressions? If someone would ask Trump did he go to the bathroom and has his bowels worked out lately, he would reply, that he made the greatest shit ever. He is so competetive, that he simply has to shine in everything. Perhaps because he did not get enough recognition from his dad as a child? Or perhaps, because his dad protected him from getting into the Vietnam war by a silly medical problem? Putin has played Trump for that obvious desire to be recognized as the best. What I can not understand, is howcome so many US citizens are unable to see Trump as what he is, an emotional handicap? Is it because the US society (or even western society in general) sees competitivenes only as a virtue, and is unable to see how it can damage voulnerable boys to become Trump-like fascist adults?
