Trump’s Top Strategist Disavows Support in Scathing Open Letter 

Saw this on Facebook last night and felt it needed wider exposure. Some of you may have already seen it, (it was also referenced on Ruth’s blog), but IMO, it needs to be read by as many people as possible.

Even though we know, as Swarn Gill commented on Ruth’s blog: “Her message to Trump supporters will mostly fall on deaf ears. She’s become a traitor to the Trumpian cause,” it’s still good to have it out there. Hopefully, it will reach some of those “Undecided, but learning towards Trump” voters.

    • Wasn’t sure if you noticed, but the link on my blog goes to a different website … with a bit more commentary. It also has the entire letter so you don’t have to click away.

    • This may very well be true, but of late, I’ve found Snopes not to be the most reliable source of info either. There was a computer virus going around a few years ago that locked you out of your computer and claimed you had to pay 300 dollars to get access to it or your files would corrupt. Snopes claimed it was best to pay the 300 to the guys who hijacked your system as there was no way to get rid of the virus on your own. They claimed to have researched and found this was the only answer. They were 100% incorrect and I wrote them an email explaining how to purge your computer if you’d gotten this virus. I told them telling people to pay 300 dollars to get their computers freed was not a good idea and it was not necessary. They ignored my email. I pretty much lost all faith in their research methods and sources after this.

      • I remember reading about that when it happened. As noted in the Guardian article that Snopes quoted:

        “But remember, you’re dealing with criminals,” Rubin says. “There is no guarantee they’ll send you the key, and if they know you’re susceptible to blackmail what is to stop them from doing it again?”

        “Bear in mind that every penny you pay them will fund their endeavors to target other victims. “If even a few victims pay then the cybercriminals will think they have got a viable business model and keep infecting people and asking for ransoms. If nobody pays, they will stop these campaigns,” says Dmitri Bestuzhev, spokesperson for Kaspersky anti-virus software.”

        I guess, if I had the situation happen to me, I would have taken the advise and not taken my chances with criminals.

        • You’d be crazy too. However, I researched for a mere few seconds online and found out how to purge this virus without dealing with anyone. Snopes did not do this. If they had, they’d have had no reason to even remotely be talking about paying anyone anything. If you can’t bloody do a simple online search for something like this, I’ve little respect for your research skills. I was able to help two people purge their computers of this virus in minutes. I emailed Snopes, 3x, with this info, and received no response. To make a too long story short, I question the research methods of Snopes, and I stopped looking at it as a source because of this.

      • Look at the title. It makes it look like she just quit. But, again, as the article states, she worked for a Super PAC, not a PAC, and I’ve yet to see evidence that she was his top campaign strategist. I’m not saying she wasn’t. I just say I haven’t seen any evidence that she was.

  7. If you think this is NOT a setup, then you are naive! So a week before the critical Wisconsin primary a communication specialist who admittedly was NOT HIRED by the Trump campaign, is doing the media circuit. She never met Trump. She had 2 or 3 interviews with his staff, and is now an expert somehow? She’s all rehearsed with talking points, almost entirely of an opinion nature. She said she thought about not publishing the letter, then goes ahead and puts it out at an entirely strategic time.

    She is trying to come off like an insider, and like she’s just like all the Trump supporters, but that she somehow “Has seen the light!” This is a setup. I saw one article where the headline called her “Trump’s former top advisor – turned defector,” and look here, she admits she never worked for him. I wonder who’s paying her.

    • APPLETON, Wis. — Donald Trump sparked a firestorm Wednesday when he said there should be some form of punishment for women who have abortions if the procedure is outlawed in the United States — a position he walked back just hours later after he came under widespread criticism, including from the antiabortion movement.

      In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews set to air Wednesday night, the Republican presidential frontrunner repeatedly asserted he is “pro-life” and that abortion should be outlawed. But he was less clear when Matthews pressed him on exactly what the legal ramifications should be if a woman were to undergo the procedure if it were again made illegal.

      “Should abortion be punished?” Matthews asked.

      “Look, in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans would say, ‘Yes, they should,’” Trump replied.

      But when Matthews pushed him for his personal views, Trump struggled to answer.

      “I would say it’s a very serious problem, and it’s a problem we have to decide on. Are you going to send them to jail?” Trump said.

      Matthews then pressed Trump on how an abortion ban would work. “Well, you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places, but we have to ban it,” the GOP frontrunner replied.

      As to what the impact of such a ban would be, Trump responded, “There has to be some form of punishment.”

      Trump later backpedaled, likely on the advice of some of his support staff – the few who aren’t ‘yes-people’ —

        • Are still beating that dead horse? How about we talk about the “Swift Boat” book that torpedoed John Kerry, when he was head and shoulders ahead of Little George W –? Not a word was true, but Kerry began dropping in the polls and never recovered. And you’re worried about a letter?

            The book you reference is Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry

            Disinformation, yes. The Authors claims were soon deemed unsubstantiated, misleading, or inaccurate so it’s highly unlikely it had a major impact on the election.

          • Not quickly enough, Kerry, as I said, was head and shoulders ahead in the polls, and his ratings plummeted after the book was released and never recovered – another of Karl Rove’s little dirty tricks.
